So You Wanna???

So You Wanna is a great website where you can get exhaustive information on pretty much anything. Their slogan is "The Wild Goose Chase Ends Here."

I found topics such as:

"So You Wanna (SYW) Buy a Camera?"

"SYW Get a Sex Change?"

"SYW get out of a Traffic Ticket?"

The home page is organized into different categories. In those categories you can find info about mundane stuff all the way to crazy stuff. Here's the link:

EBay in Trouble Over Counterfeits

eBay in trouble over counterfeits: "Jeweller Tiffany & Co is suing eBay for allowing individuals to auction counterfeit items on its site, the New York Times has reported.
The company secretly purchased 200 pieces of jewellery which claimed to be from Tiffany on the auction site in 2004. Three quarters of the pieces received by the jeweller turned out to be fakes.
"
-------------------------
First of all, its no shock that 3/4 of the merchandise Tiffany purchased was fake. I'm actually surprised that any of it was real. I would assume that any designer goods sold on EBay are fake. That's why I buy from reputable dealers and get the real McCoy.

Second, I think that Tiffany should be suing individual sellers of counterfit merchandise, as they are the actual sellers, not EBay. EBay is merely a listing service that charges a percentage of the sale as its listing fee. I guess Tiffany can't get any $$$ out of individual buyers though, so it's going after the big boys at EBay.

And might I add as a side note that Tiffany & Company jewelry isn't all that. I've visited their website and store and was sorely disappointed.

Star-Telegram | 01/20/2006 | More Julie Fisk

Star-Telegram | 01/20/2006 | People watch:

"Meanwhile, Julie Hoyt-Fisk is out as morning-show co-host on KDMX/102.9 'Mix 102.9.' Program director Pat McMahon has not returned an e-mail seeking comment."

--------

Just posting what all I'm finding for those who are interested.

Mornings without Julie Fisk Aren't the Same!!

Okay, so I got two comments about Julie Fisk. It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one missing her. I must say that Tony and Cappy totally suck without her. Cappy has actually been the only one on lately b/c first, Tony was out of town, now he's sick. I keep hoping that Julie will magically pop back on, but alas each morning I turn on my radio to the crapfest that is Tony and Cappy (actually just Cappy right now.) This morning, they actually tried to use an old promo bit from Dakota Fanning that sounded really stupid after they cut Julie's name out of it. It was really obvious that they spliced it. It was just another heinous reminder of the bowl of feces that the morning show has become.

Now for my biggest obstacle--finding a new show. I tried David Lee Roth (who has taken Howard Stern's place here in Dallas.) He seemed pretty lame. I tried Kid Kraddick in the Morning. Ehhh. They are really marginal (but better than nothing.) I could move on back over to the Edge where I first listened to Julie, but Jagger's voice has always gotten on my nerves. It was worth putting up with to hear her. But now, I'm not so sure.

If anyone has any good Dallas morning show recommendations, or knows what happend to Julie Fisk, please let me know!!

If you'll notice

I've deleted most articles by other people. I'll still be posting news, but it will leave the sight after a few days, as deleting it helps my blog load faster. Plus, after a while, much of the news isn't very relevant anymore.

Julie Fisk, still a mystery

Okay, well, my friend got me this email from one of the Mix dejays today. It still doesn't say anything. It's like she was there one day and gone the next. I have a friend in the radio biz. I'll talk to her tonight and see if she can find out. She's the only reason I listened to that station.

Julie has left and gone on to other opportunities. She is the consummate
pro and I respect her so much. I'm not sure what her plans our but I
know she'll be great at whatever she decides. Hope that helps.

What Happened to Julie Fisk, Mix 102.9?

I am stumped. If you've read my blog before, you may know that I WAS a huge fan of the Morning Mix with Tony, Julie, and Cappy on Mix 102.9 in Dallas. But alas, I must find a new station because JULIE HAS MYSTERIOUSLY VANISHED. I'm pretty sure I heard her on Monday morning discussing Cappy getting a vasectomy. I haven't heard her since then, and she is no longer shown or listed on the website:

www.mix102.9.com

They haven't mentioned her that I have heard. I have Googled her, and combed the site for info and come up with nothing. If anyone can figure out what happened to her, drop me a comment. I may have to go back to her original home in Dallas, The Edge 102.1. Kidd Kraddick in the Morning is also a contender.

Which Desperate Housewife are You?

In a desperate effort to find out which Desperate Housewife I’m most like, I decided to go online and take a quiz or two. If you take any of these, leave me a note telling me who you are. If you want to take one of them, just click on the hot pink text next to each quiz number.

Quiz #1- ABC Desperate Housewives Quiz
According to this quiz, I’m a Susan

“You always mean well, but somehow, things don’t always work out as planned. It doesn’t matter. You take your tumbles with good grace and always come up smiling. But try to remember that you’re the grown-up in the family.”

Quiz #2- (This one is a bit short) Some DH quiz a random girl made up on quizilla
According to this quiz, I am a Bree.

DHbree
Congratulations! You are Bree Van De Kamp, the
Martha Stewart on steroids, whose family is
about to mutiny.

Which Desperate Housewife are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

And finally, for now, Quiz #3-
A DH quiz by the Brits

You're Bree

I don't know how she does it. People say this often about you, because you always seem to have it all under control. Your home is tidy, your hair is perfect, and you're always impeccably turned out. Your friends would hate you for your finesse in the kitchen (on top of everything else) if they didn't enjoy your cooking so much. You enjoy doing things the right way and take satisfaction in being capable. While some might tag you as an annoying type A, that sells you short. You work hard at making your life what you want it to be - that's why you see results.

Just keep in mind, however, that not everyone has the same standards or priorities that you do. Your zeal for doing things your way can have a tendency to alienate those around you, who feel like there is no room for error on their part. You might also want to ask yourself if you concentrate on the little tasks to avoid focusing on the big issues, such as: are you happy? Is your relationship where you want it to be? Is your career satisfying? Take time to mull over the big questions, even if that means skipping your weekly sock-drawer organizing session. Don't let your good habits get in the way of enjoying life. Leave the washing up in the sink for one night in favor of cuddling on the sofa. Lighten-up, so the fun side of your personality shines through too.

So, the Brees’ have it. I’m a Bree.
